Description:
Many of us from the United States have not had the opportunity
to consider what being from the US means in relation to
being a global citizen. This interactive workshop will explore
our development of identity as an "American,"
the strengths and drawbacks of this background, and how
the US' role in the world impacts our self-concept. Through
this self-exploration, participants will gain insight and
skills regarding how to lead similar conversations with
students in a manner that develops self-awareness without
diminishing self-esteem. Ideally, participants will have
done some identity exploration previously.
