College Access and Success AmeriCorps Member Positions
(Pending Funding)
Vermont Campus Compact is looking for people to serve in Vermont
high schools and colleges who focus on access to and success in
college. Each member will serve for 11 months/1700 hours at a participating
high school or college. The nature of the service will entail a
combination of direct and indirect service.

Specific CASC Position Descriptions
Typical service activities related to college access
are likely to include: advising students about college entrance
requirements, presenting workshops about financial aid and other
relevant issues, developing or coordinating tutoring programs and/or
mentoring programs, and coordinating college visits.
Typical service activities related to college success
are likely to include: engaging faculty in issues of college
success, researching the relationship between civic engagement and
success in college, and coordinating mentoring programs for a specific
student population, such as first-generation college students.

to pay off existing federal student loads or finance future education.
Qualifications:
College degree (Bachelor degree preferred), excellent communication
skills, previous leadership experience, demonstrated commitment
to service, and an interest in education.
A car and valid driver's license is required for this position.
