Sustainable Environmental Entrepreneurs (SEE)
AmeriCorps Member Positions

Vermont Campus Compact is looking for people to serve in areas focusing on environmental sustainability-local foods, energy and weatherization, and environmental education and literacy. Each member will serve for 11 months/1700 hours at a participating college or community organization. The nature of the service will entail a combination of direct and indirect service.

General Responsibilities include:

Local Foods: promoting and supporting the development of local food systems and farmers markets, distributing local food to area non-profits and people in need, and educating the public about local foods issues

Energy & Weatherization: promoting alternative energy solutions, conducting energy audits, weatherization projects, energy reduction through reduce/reuse/recycle projects, and educating the public about energy and weatherization issues

Environmental education and literacy: providing trainings and educating the public about environmental and sustainability issues

In addition to extensive professional development training, members receive a living stipend, health benefits, and an education award to pay off existing federal student loads or finance future education.

Qualifications:
College degree (Bachelor degree preferred), excellent communication skills, previous leadership experience, demonstrated commitment to service, and an interest in environmental sustainability.
A car and valid driver's license is required for this position. All positions will begin in August 2010.
